Welcome to one of Cowan, Tennessee's oldest religious landmarks!
The Rayburn Chapel Preservation Society maintains and preserves the former Rayburn Chapel A.M.E. Church. Built in 1889, Rayburn Chapel is the second oldest church building in Cowan, Tennessee.
The A.M.E. congregation closed in 1997 after almost the entire group of members had either passed or relocated.
The Preservation Society was formed to keep the property in state of good repair and to preserve the possibility of serving again as a house of prayer and a missionary outpost for the work of the Gospel.
We welcome your contributions of time, talent, funds, and resources to advance our cause. Contact us via e-mail at cowanchurches@gmail.com or leave a voicemail at the St. Agnes' Church telephone number: (931) 636-6313. Contributions can be sent via check or money order to Rayburn Chapel Preservation Society, PO Box 585, Cowan, TN 37318.
We appreciate your interest in Rayburn Chapel! We hope to hear from you soon!
